Why iLok.com?

iLok owners need the ability to manage their iLoks and licenses. iLok.com is an Internet-based portal that communicates with the iLoks on your computer to help you manage your iLok licenses. With iLok.com you can see what is on your iLok, register your licenses, identify which iLok is which, receive new licenses from software publishers, move licenses between iLoks, and transfer licenses to other iLok.com users.

Registering your iLok at iLok.com is separate from registering your software with the software publisher. You must register your software with the software publisher in order to receive updates and support from them. The software publisher is also the only one that can provide the software installers.

Here's how you use iLok.com: Sign up for an account using your browser, download and install the required client software, login to your account, register your iLok and view the contents. You can do all of the above in minutes (depending on the speed of your Internet connection). Note that you only have to sign up once. But you have to install the client software to any machine where you wish to use iLok.com.

Once you have an account and have registered your iLoks, you are ready to manage your iLoks and licenses. In order to keep track of multiple iLoks, you might want to name and add notes to your registered iLoks. You can also use iLok.com to identify any registered iLok connected to your computer.

Your iLok.com account is useful for other purposes also. Software vendors can use your account to provide you with new licenses for products and demonstrations. The way this works is a software vendor will place what we call pending licenses in your account. A pending license is like a ticket to receive an license. Once you have a pending license in your account, you can transfer it to any registered iLok, creating a new license. Software vendors can also query your account to provide customer service.

  • iLok.com requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher (including 10.5 Leopard), and Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
  • iLok.com currently supports Safari, Firefox, and Windows Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater.
  • The iLok Client Software, required in order to handle the transmissions, can be downloaded by registered users of iLok.com. You can use your home computer, a friend's, or an office internet connection to access iLok.com.
